Security Solutions for EPA Regulated Industries

IMS Worldwide Security Consulting Group (IMSW Security), a division of IMS Worldwide, Inc. is a consulting group with more than 25 years experience, 140 International related projects completed and a superior standing with U.S. Customs and the international trade industry. Our focus in security is to provide an integrated solution that blends the demands of commercial operation with the reality of current security challenges. The goal is to continue to assure high quality security within the commercial operating constraints.

Pinkerton Global Security Consulting Group (Pinkerton) and IMSW Security are now teaming together to assist clients in compliance with EPA's soon to be released guidelines for site security, threat assessment and transportation security. The EPA is preparing a mandate that all sensitive sites must prepare self-assessments that respond to a broad range of threats against chemical, petroleum processing, water and wastewater facilities. These assessments must also capture transportation details and demonstrate that all conveyance modes are secure against threats and attacks. Pending legislation will also mandate that facilities be audited by certified assessment teams to validate the effectiveness of the security measures. Pinkerton and IMSW Security are prepared to support all aspects of the initial assessments, validating protective actions and confirming that sites are verified as secure.

Within this scope of work, we provide a complete audit on all aspects of the physical and procedural aspects of the security operations of a facility. This includes a review of the security equipment, personnel, access points, procedures and logistics associated with the facility. Our Security Audits challenge all elements of the facility's physical and procedural security. We link visibility of products and stakeholder security concerns to partners, vendors and service providers. Our audit process couples the government requirements and voluntary compliance with the best industry practices including assessments in compliance with the guidelines issued by the American Chemical Council and the American Petroleum Institute.

IMSW Security will audit the entire facility and its security systems for compliance to current requirements and the best industry practices. We will provide written recommendations where gaps are identified or threats exist for intrusion or disruption. IMSW Security may also recommend new technology for managing a more secure facility, with security improvements and personnel security elements, where emerging or current technology could result in intrusion or sabotage prevention.

Our consultants will focus on delivering a complete solution with end-to-end recommendations for reducing or eliminating intrusion and potential sabotage. From dock to dock and along the entire process from origin(s) to destination(s), IMSW Security applies more than 25 years of trade and transportation experience in regional, national and global trade. In addition, IMSW Security will assist in creating a culture of security and safety in your facility and throughout your logistics systems. By holding your partners and service providers to the same standards as your internal staff, you create an environment where security is part of management's review and focus.

IMSW Security will produce a comprehensive report with realistic recommendations. We start with a complete investigation of your current internal practices, test them with our own 136 point security audit and appraise their effectiveness in preventing intrusion and sabotage. Highlights of the audit include:

  • Review all aspects of provider's, partner's and vendor's role in the transportation of merchandise to and from your facility. Plant tours, physical inventory control procedures, physical control reviews, training and audits of current procedures against reasonable care practices.
  • Review visitor and vendor plant access control as well as documentation for transfer of goods and all relevant plant access documentation. This includes redundancies and fail-safe practices, material handling and segregation procedures.
